The Challenge: The client’s new office space presented an open-plan layout, which while offering flexibility, lacked the necessary division for a private office and a meeting room. The primary challenge was to transform this space to accommodate distinct work areas without compromising the sense of spaciousness or natural light. Additionally, enhancing acoustic privacy was essential to facilitate confidential discussions and concentrated work sessions.

Our Solution: In response to the client’s needs, our team designed a custom solution that involved the construction of a double skin solid stud wall. This structure was chosen for its effectiveness in creating distinct work zones while providing substantial acoustic insulation. To complement this, an acoustic baffle was installed above the suspended ceiling, aimed at absorbing sound and minimizing echo, thereby improving the overall sound quality within the office space.

The design was thoughtfully completed with the installation of 12.8 acoustic laminated glass for the office fronts, ensuring that while sound transmission was minimized, natural light could still permeate the space, keeping it bright and welcoming. The offices were further equipped with solid core black laminated timber doors, chosen for their soundproofing capabilities as well as their sleek, professional look that enhanced the office’s aesthetic appeal.

The Outcome: This strategic office fit-out was successfully completed, meeting the client’s requirement for a workspace that supported both privacy and collaboration. The newly created office and meeting room offered the perfect balance of acoustic privacy and visual openness.
