One of our recent projects took us to Beckford House in Bristol, where we were tasked with creating a fire-rated glass partition for an open-plan area. The challenge? We needed to ensure the space remained bright and open while meeting the essential fire safety regulations.

The Client’s Vision

Our client wanted a fire-rated screen that would allow light to continue flowing through the open-plan space, maintaining the airy feel of the room without compromising on safety. This is something we’re passionate about—balancing beauty and functionality. Our Solution: A 30/0 Fire-Rated Glass Partition

After assessing the space and discussing the client’s needs, we proposed installing a Clearline Fire 30/0 Partition. The partition measured 2025mm high by 2850mm wide and would be installed within a plasterboard structure created by other contractors.

We opted for Pyrobel16 30/0 fire glass, which offers 30 minutes of fire resistance without blocking natural light. This glass is perfect for creating safe, transparent barriers in office environments.

We also supplied and installed a self-closing glass door framed with Schott fire glass, which met the fire-rating standards without compromising on the sleek, minimalist look the client was after.

For that extra touch of style, we incorporated three horizontal “Crittall-style” bands to give the partition an industrial, modern look that worked beautifully with the overall design of the space.
