Acoustic Meeting Space for Bunked
We completed a glass partition installation in Portsmouth for Bunked, transforming a compact and complex site into a functional, quiet meeting space while working within a modest budget.
Project Overview
The brief was to create a private, acoustically controlled meeting area within a limited footprint. The space presented several challenges, including:
- Multiple surface-mounted conduits
- Boxing details throughout
- Variations in ceiling height
Despite these constraints, we delivered a clean, modern solution that maximised both usability and aesthetics.
Acoustic Glass Partition Solution
To meet the acoustic and budget requirements, we installed:
- 12mm toughened safety glass
- A framed glass door system
- Partitioning achieving approximately 33dB sound attenuation
This provided effective noise reduction, creating a quieter and more focused meeting environment.
Design & Compliance
The glazing was finished with Crittall-style banding, offering a modern industrial look while also serving a practical purpose.
Because of this design:
- No additional DDA manifestation or safety strips were required
- The space maintained a clean, uninterrupted finish

Although the site was small and technically challenging, our team:
- Carefully worked around existing services and structural limitations
- Maintained a high-quality finish throughout
- Delivered a cost-effective solution without compromising performance
